Plan your visit
Before you visit —
a few things worth
knowing.
What a first visit looks like
Plan for about 60 to 90 minutes. The first appointment usually includes a full history, vision and refraction testing, an assessment of eye alignment and binocular function, and — where relevant — dilated examination.
If your visit is for a child, you are encouraged to stay in the room throughout the examination. Drops are explained before they go in. The pace is set by your child.
What to bring
- Any current or past spectacle prescriptions, ideally the spectacles themselves.
- A list of medications, particularly any drops being used.
- Previous eye reports, scans or surgical notes, if available.
- For children: the most recent school vision report.
- Photo ID for clinic registration.
